Join botanist and outdoor educator, Jazmen Yoder on a gentle walk at Washington Park to learn how to identify a variety of common ferns native to Pacific Northwest Coast.

There is very little elevation gain on this trail. We can expect to see an abundance of fern fiddleheads in early spring. Learn which ones are edible and which ones should be avoided when foraging.

Understand what makes ferns different than other plants and who their closest allies are. You may be surprised!

Jazmen is a naturalist with a background in evolution, ecology and organismal biology with a special focus on the Salish Sea Bioregion.
