Saturday January 17th, 2026
Near Bellingham/Ferndale border
(Directions to this riverside event will be sent to registered participants the week of the event)
12:00pm to ~4pm
Join Naturalist, Jazmen Yoder on a gentle walk along the river for a wild medicinal plant walk and foraging adventure this winter!
In this course, learn to identify plants along the Nooksack River, and how to wildcraft your foraged finds into syrups, tinctures, and salves at home.
Learn about the incredible nutritional value of wild plants of the Pacific Northwest, practice mindful foraging, ID plants and mushrooms, and take home a personal amount of cottonwood buds, rose hips, and pine (and whatever else we may find in abundance) to boost your home apothecary!
There is no elevation gain on this trail, but quite a bit of walking.
Discover Pass
Dress for the weather (warm outdoor clothing)
Your most comfortable walking shoes
Snacks and water
Notebook and pen (optional)
Foraging basket
You will receive a receipt of payment. Registered individuals will receive location details, driving directions, weather forecast details and other info in an event-reminder email 3-4 days prior to the event. Please check your spam folder if you do not receive this email. Reach out if you do not find an email. There have been frequent issues with Gmail not delivering to Hotmail, Live, and MSN email addresses. Email Jazmen with concerns or to get on a waitlist: nwnatura@gmail.com
