A Field Trip for Nature Lovers and Foragers
Saturday August 1st, 2026
Trail TBA - seeking Deming or Ferndale, WA (selection dependent on stages of plants (seasonality) closer to the date). Registered participants will be notified.
12:30pm to ~4:45pm
(4.25 hrs. for $35. Adults and teens age 16+ only)
This will be a slow “hike” with little to no elevation gain. Come out to “get your steps in” while learning about fungi, flora, and fauna from local botanist and naturalist, Jazmen Yoder.
In this course we will primarily focus on medicinal and edible species of plants we come across, but these “naturalist hikes” are open to pivot to anything that interests the group including fungi finds, wildlife sign, and anything to do with ecology, ethnobotany, wildcrafting, and more.
Northwest Natura’s Naturalist Hikes happen year-round and are a wonderful way to meet new people or sign up to do something with your friend(s).
Dress for the weather
Snacks and water
Notepad and pen (optional)
Binoculars (optional)
Foraging basket (optional)
You will receive an automated confirmation of payment. Registered individuals will receive location details, driving directions, weather forecast details and other info in an event-reminder email 3-4 days prior to the event. Please use an active email address to sign up. All communications from NW Natura to you re: this workshop will be sent to the email address on file from your purchase.
