Sunday September 20th, 2026
12:30pm to ~5:00pm
Deming, WA
Join me on the Autumn Equinox for a walk in the woods searching edible and medicinal mushrooms and to learn about mushroom ecology and ID as many fungi as possible!
This course will be focused on mushroom ID and ecology with a foraging component. No species is guaranteed but we you will learn how to “find your own spot” and about this location for your future outings.
This is the early part of mushroom season, but we can hope to find dozens of species of fungi at this location including edible, medicinal, and gorgeous non-edibles (bring your camera!)
We’ll be stopping a lot to identify mushrooms we find. We will find edible and medicinal species and have ample time to talk about how to forage, cook or otherwise prepare them.
Foraging for mushrooms is allowed at this location.
Keep your eye out for more mushroom foraging courses with Northwest Natura happening in October (TBA!)
What to bring:
Dress for the weather
Snacks and water
Notepad and pen (optional)
Hand lens (optional)
You will receive an automated confirmation of payment. Registered individuals will receive location details, driving directions, weather forecast details and other info in an event-reminder email 3-4 days prior to the event. Please use an active email address to sign up. All communications from NW Natura to you re: this workshop will be sent to the email address on file from your purchase.
